Asprio, the company behind the streaming service WiMP, recently acquired by Jay Z, will now be featuring only one streaming service. Earlier this month, Jay Z bought 95.18 percent of Aspiro’s shares through his company Project Panther Bidco. Because Project Panther owns over 90 percent of Aspiro’s shares, it is classified as a compulsory buyout. Aspiro has since applied to delist from Stockholm’s NASDAQ.
The streaming service company will be dropping WiMP, and continuing only with Tidal. Tidal will be relaunching later this month, on the 30th. The service, which offers HD music, videos and editorial, will now feature exclusive content, “experiences” and merchandise.
