SoundCloud Claims $1M Payout To Musicians and Labels
SoundCloudannounced last year that it would be adding audio ads and a subscription service to their site. Although many avid users worried what this would actually do to their favorite online streaming service, SoundCloud seemed to be more or less the same as it always has been.
Fader reports that the streaming service has paid out $1 million to artists and labels since last August. On a recent post on their blog, SoundCloud attributed the large payout to their Premier Partner level of the On SoundCloud partner program, stating that they have “…signed up over 100 Premier Partners and paid over $1 million in advertising revenue to partners including labels, audio partners and emerging artists.”
SoundCloud claims that they will continue to add more Premier Partners, which will hopefully continue to contribute to artists and labels.
