Spotify introduced a new feature last week that can improve your marketing efforts.

Spotify users can now create “Spotify Codes“, like in the image above, for any records. A Code features artwork and a special QR-like graphic. Any other Spotify user can then scan the code from their mobile app (you will see the camera button in the search tab) to load the record. No link sharing required.

Example: save a Spotify Code for one of your records as an image on your phone, and share it on Instagram. Add a brief explanation in the caption, as your followers may not be aware of how to use it yet. They need to take a screenshot of the image from Instagram, then open the Spotify app, go to search, tap on the camera button, and load the image (you don’t have to list all those steps, probably).
Artists should consider using it to share music when meeting people face-to-face.
