Rdio has set to partner up with AXS (AEG’s event ticketing services), which will provide users the ability to stream unlimited music from various platforms. This is quite a revolutionary binding of two powerhouses in their respective fields; Rdio boasting over 32 million tracks and AXS being the No. 1 leader in sporting events and No. 2 in concert ticket sales (2nd to Live Nation Entertainment, owners of Ticketmaster). However, it is to be noted that despite Rdio providing music streaming to over 85 countries, this partnership will only cover US.
Users who buy tickets from AXS, will now be granted a free 30 day subscription to Rdio Unlimited, which is their ad-free subscription. With Rdio’s music streaming services, fans can enjoy custom programing and specified stations which will connect them to massive array of artists and music genres. Rdio & AXS take initiative to broaden the experience of music lovers by providing users with notification of when their favorite live artists have added new music to Rdio’s streaming stations.
According to CEO of Rdio, Anthony Bay, the partnership is an “economic relationship,” expanding on the notion that the best customer base to reach for streaming music subscription are those individuals that buy tickets to see their favorite artists perform live. This is a great example of how our online and offline lives are being connected in a way to help make our music listening experience that much better.
