Symphonic Distribution will be present at SXSW 2015 this year and supporting our campaign for #BecomeMajor. We’ve put together this short list of artists that we think are making waves in the scene right now and will most definitely have packed crowds at this year’s festival. Check them out below, we will also be adding cool showcases and events below as they get announced as well.
1. James Bay
James Bay is a young singer-songwriter from Hitchin, UK currently exploding on the charts. He was also claimed this years Brit Awards Critic’s Choice for 2015.
2. Mini Mansions
Mini Mansions are a Los Angeles, CA based band which includes Queens of the Stone Age bassist, Michael Shuman. They’ve already hit the ground running and touring with bands such as Arctic Monkeys, Royal Blood, and My Morning Jacket.
3. Big Data
Big Data is an American electronic music project helmed by producer Alan Wilkis based out of Brooklyn, NYC. They are well known for their single “Dangerous” featuring Joywave.
4. Courtney Barnett
Courtney Barnett is an Australian singer-songwriter and guitarist from Melbourne. She mixes quirky lyrics and in-your-face guitar into catchy hits. Originating from garage grunge band Rapid Transit.
5. MisterWives
MisterWives is an American indie pop band based in New York City. Infectious songs and an exciting live show for anyone looking to be in a good mood. Don’t miss their new track “Our Own House”.
6. Leon Bridges
Singer/Songwriter from Fort Worth, TX. Blending southern soul and gospel that will have you reminiscing of how the times ‘used to be’. Don’t miss his track “Coming Home”.
7. Nothing But Thieves
Rock n’ roll band from the Southend On the Sea (aka London). For fans of Muse, head banging, and vocal ranges that will steal your girlfriend.
8. Grieves
Hip / Hop artist based in Seattle, Washington and signed to Rhymesayers Entertainment. He’s been touring the world non-stop since 2007 and has shared the stage with some big acts such as Kendrick Lamar and Atmosphere.
9. Cathedrals
They describe themselves as “a bouquet of roses blooming in the night”… pretty accurate description of this laid-back band and their beautifully crafted tracks out of San Francisco, CA.
10. Coasts
English rock n’ roll band based out of Bristol. They’ve received much support from the highly acclaimed BBC Radio and offer well crafted and catchy tunes that will fit nicely in the chaos on 6th St.
