Two strong forces unite. Beatport and Spotify have today announced a new partnership.
Beatport, one of our most long lasting partners and pioneers of the EDM market began in 2004 as an online music store for DJs, has become a global platform where fans and DJs can take part in the evolution of the dance music culture. The company recently launched a new music streaming service dedicated to high-definition dance tracks from the best DJs and producers in the world, both top and up-and-coming.
Beatport also recently launched Beatport Live, a web broadcasting platform that hosts exclusive content from SFX’s biggest festivals, including Mysteryland USA, Sensation and Awakenings Festival. On July 24-26, Beatport Live will broadcast the world-renowned Tomorrowland Festival in Boom, Belgium.
Beatport on Spotify will host a variety of premium and exclusive content, from trending electronic tracks and video coverage to live events and curated playlists from Beatport’s experts.
“We are thrilled to be operating a Beatport presence within Spotify and providing our unique content around all things EMC to the Spotify audience,” President and CEO of Beatport Greg Consiglio said. “They will be the first to access the latest need-to-know exclusive electronic music from Beatport and will also be able to watch to a mix of original festival and event video content.”
Beatport is building out its content network with a variety of distribution partners, but Spotify will be the only partner to gain exclusive access to Beatport’s new music exclusives, Consiglio said.
We’ll update this if any additional news surfaces, but this looks to be a pretty unique and interesting partnership.
