How To Set Up An Official Artist Channel on YouTube

If you’re an artist on YouTube, your Official Artist Channel (OAC) brings together all your content from your different YouTube channels into one place. That means instead of having an official channel, a separate YouTube Music artist channel, and a Vevo channel appear in a search, users will now only see the Official Artist Channel. Simplify your life and get yours set up in a couple easy steps. Here’s how to do it…

How To Set Up An Official Artist Channel on YouTube

Let’s break it down…

This Official Artist Channel links all three of your channels together (i.e. your personal channel, Vevo channel, and Topic channel) and convert your personal channel into an Official Artist Channel. You still have full log-in access to the OAC and the Vevo and Topic channels would still exist separately, BUT the videos On these channels (and future releases) would automatically appear on your Official Artist Channel.

For example: Taylor Swift has a Vevo channel here. — When you click on one of her Vevo videos, you can see underneath the video that it links back to her OAC. That is what would occur with your OAC as well.

To be eligible for an Official Artist Channel, make sure that you meet the following requirements:

• You must own and operate a YouTube channel that represents one artist or band.
• Have at least 1 art track (release on YouTube Music) submitted.
• Have at least 3 videos uploaded to your personal channel in addition to the release from a distributor (IE: Symphonic).
• Have no policy violations on your channel.

It is possible that your request may be rejected if you meet any of the following:

• The channel’s main focus is not music
• The channel belongs to a label and not an artist
• The main channel and the topic channel have a different artist name.
• The artist has a considerable amount of non-original content on their channel.
• The artist hasn’t uploaded any content to their Owned & Operated channel.
• The artist hasn’t distributed to YouTube Music via Symphonic.
• The topic channel has content from other similarly named artists, in that case, it is necessary to request both a topic channel fix and the OAC.
